Single Trip
Cover for one single trip, up to 90 days in duration.


Annual Multi Trip
If you’re planning on travelling more than once in the next year, then the Annual Multi Trip policy is the one for you. It covers you to go away on as many trips as you like in the 12 month period just as long as no individual trip is longer than 35 days.

Cruises
– any trip that includes a sea or ocean voyage of more than 48 hours duration and includes stops at more than one port.

Wintersports
- Big foot skiing, dry slope skiing, glacier skiing/walking, husky dog sledding (organised, non-competitive and with an experienced local driver), ice go karting* (within organisers guidelines), ice skating (rink), ski biking, ski boarding, langlauf, cross country skiing, mono skiing, Nordic skiing, skiing on-piste**, skiing off-piste with a guide**, sledging/tobogganing on snow, sleigh riding as a passenger (pulled by horse or reindeer)*, snow-boarding on-piste**, snow-boarding off-piste with a guide**, snowmobiling (skidoo)*, snow shoe walking, ski – touring, telemarking, winter walking (using crampons and ice picks only).

* Cover under the personal accident and personal liability sections is excluded when participating in these activities.
** A piste is a recognised and marked ski run within the resort boundaries.

For Single Trip policies, the start date will be the day that you depart on your trip (i.e. your outbound journey). Cancellation cover is in effect from the day that you buy the policy and all other sections are in effect from the departure date of your trip.

For Annual Multi Trip policies, the start date is the date that you want the policy to start. Cancellation cover is only in effect from the start date of the policy but is then in place for all trips occurring during the period of insurance and up to the expiry date of the policy for any trips starting after the end of the period of insurance. All other sections are in effect from the departure date of any trips booked.

Note: Cancellation cover starts from the date you buy your policy for single trips and the start date of the policy for annual multi trips.

Individual – one person aged 18 – 75 (65 when travelling outside Europe)

Couple – You and your partner aged 18 – 75 (65 when travelling outside Europe) living together at the same address and insured on the same policy.

Family - You and Your partner who are aged 18 – 75 (65 when travelling outside Europe) living together at the same address plus a maximum of six of Your Children/Grandchildren aged under 18, insured on the same policy.

Single Parent Family - You, aged 18 – 75 (65 when travelling outside Europe) plus a maximum of six of Your Children/Grandchildren aged under 18, insured on the same policy.

Group - A minimum of two and a maximum of six individuals who may not all be related who are aged 18 years or over and insured on the same policy.

Medical declaration

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions are defined below. If you or anyone to be insured under the policy would answer ‘yes’ to any of the 3 questions below, then you must declare the relevant conditions at the time of policy purchase along with any changes in the condition or development of new conditions which would fall under this definition that occur between policy purchase and prior to departing on a trip:

  1. Have you ever been diagnosed or received treatment for any cancerous, respiratory, heart or blood circulatory conditions (including problems with blood flow, including strokes, high blood pressure and cholesterol) at any time prior to purchase of the policy and at any time between purchasing the policy and departing on your trip.
  2. Have you ever been diagnosed or received treatment for any psychological conditions such as stress, anxiety or depression or psychiatric conditions such as eating disorders, drug or alcohol abuse or mental instability at any time prior to purchase of the policy and at any time between purchasing the policy and departing on your trip.
  3. Have you had any medical condition for which you have attended a medical practitioner’s surgery, clinic or hospital; been prescribed medication; or received treatment, in the two years prior to booking the policy, and at any time between purchasing the policy and departing on your trip.

In addition to the above, there are medical circumstances and conditions that cannot be considered for cover and are excluded by the policy:

  1. any medical condition or set of symptoms for which you have currently been put on a waiting list for treatment or investigation; or awaiting test results; or for which a diagnosis has not yet been made; or for which you have been given a terminal prognosis;
  2. any medical condition or set of symptoms in respect of which a medical practitioner has (or would have advised you had you sought their advice) not to travel, but despite which you still travel;
  3. any medical condition or set of symptoms for which you are travelling to obtain treatment;
  4. any medical condition or set of symptoms for which you are not taking the recommended treatment or prescribed medication as directed by a medical practitioner;
  5. your travel against any health requirements stipulated by the carrier, their handling agents or any other public transport provider.

All cover for pre-existing medical conditions of any non-travelling relatives, persons travelling with you but not insured by us, or people with whom you plan to stay on your trip are excluded under this policy.

Eligibility Conditions

  • You must not be travelling against the latest FCDO advice
  • You are aged 18 - 75(or 65 if travelling outside Europe) at the date of buying the policy.
  • You and all persons to be insured have an address in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and have lived there for at least 6 of the last 12 months and haven’t started your trip yet.
  • You and all persons to be insured are registered with a GP in the part of the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man where you live.
